For
nearly 130 years the L.J. Peretti Co. has been a Boston institution,
world famous for our hand blended pipe tobaccos made on the
premises, as well as our astounding selection of cigars .
Our Park Square location has been headed by Robert A. Peretti
since the early forties when he returned from the war. He
has since made thousands of pipes , hand blended literally
tons of pipe tobacco , sold millions of cigars and custom
blended over one hundred thousand blends to suit the tastes
of discerning pipe smokers from all over the world,
including Ramsey Macdonald , former Prime Minister of England.
Other notable visitors over the years include Bing Crosby,
Basil Rathbone, Edward G. Robinson, Jack Lemmon, and Walter
Matthau. |

To
this day Robert Peretti still hand blends all of the pipe
tobaccos sold in the store, performs all the pipe repairs,
and occasionally turns out a beautiful straight grain freehand
for a lucky customer. |
